You may be aware that some food manufactures have admitted that products have been contaminated with horse meat. The products affected are mainly processed meat items. WCC are confident that caterers in Worcestershire schools have rigorous procedures in place to prevent contaminated food being served in schools. However, we will instruct them to conduct authenticity tests on all beef products such as burgers, meatballs and lasagne that are not freshly produced on site. In the meantime please contact your school caterer directly if you have any concerns regarding the food they serve in your school.
